In terms of fashion, the word “neutral” runs through our ears in the from of an angelic melody. Plain & simple, here’s why… Neutrals can be paired with just about anything to produce an ample variation of looks, depending on what you fancy. However, we weren’t always this crazed about neutrals because we always thought of them as some of the hardest pieces to purchase…
Often times, neutral toned clothing can come in the form of very simple & basic pieces. With that being said, there’s always something slightly difficult about forking out the cash for a basic white t-shirt, button up, blouse, or whatever it may be. Here’s why we think that is: Basic pieces don’t necessarily come across as eye catching, in comparison to pieces that are rich in patterns, textures, and design. But when thinking of the long run in terms of your relationship with your wardrobe – as heartbreaking as it is – you will more than likely fall out of love with those richly designed, patterned, and textured items that you were once head-over-heels for.
This is where the basic pieces, or as we like to call them, investment pieces, com into play. Purchasing those basics will always rule out as a wardrobe necessity because most often, they are timeless, always “in style” pieces, that you won’t grow tired of. Likely, the only reason you’ll kiss them goodbye is because they were shown too much love and are in need of some replacing. So when you’re contemplating a purchase like this, just remember that the basics are the best investments and hold ample versatility; you can always dress them up with accessories or keep them simple by themselves.
Here’s a sample of our investment pieces, in the form of two completely different, yet timeless grey tops… a button down and a long sleeve v-neck.
